Temple Or Elohim - Committees
SISTERHOOD and MEN'S CLUB MISSION STATEMENTS
Temple Or Elohim's Sisterhood and Men's Club are dedicated to supporting our Temple with religious, social and community events and activities that will bring our membership, the synagogue and the community at large closer together and raise funds to support the Temple's needs.
Our Sisterhood mission statement states the following: The purpose of this organization shall be to act as an auxiliary to Temple Or Elohim, to support the spirituality of women, to work for the betterment of the Temple, to further the highest ideals of its members, to promote closer fellowship among its members, to be a fund-raising arm of the Temple and have educational and informational programs that are enlightening and enjoyable.
Temple Or Elohim's Sisterhood is actively dedicated to supporting the spirituality of women, to further the highest ideals of its members and work for the betterment of the temple. As the key fundraising arm of the temple, Sisterhood sponsors such events as Shopper's Day, Sisterhood Shabbat, as well as the Sisterhood Judaica boutique showcase. Sisterhood's monthly meetings include entertaining and enjoyable events, such as book discussions, crafts, recipe sharing and holiday parties always enhanced with refreshments.
Temple Or Elohim's Men's Club is dedicated to supporting our Temple with religious, social and community events and activities that will bring our membership, the synagogue and the community at large closer together and raise funds to support the Temple's needs. Among other things, the Men's Club provides ushers for the high holiday services, constructs the Temple Sukkah for Sukkot, tapes bar/bat mitzvah services, holds the annual Chanukah party, organizes family oriented activities and offers guest speakers on topics of interest. We are always open to new members, new programs and new ideas that can assist us in maintaining Temple Or Elohim as an active, vibrant religious and social community.

Inspired by the belief that families with young children are the future of the Jewish community, Temple Or Elohim is interested in engaging this demographic through a rich array of programs, services, classes and events.
Familyhood activities/events/programs can be attended by parents, caregivers, grandparents and anyone else who may be interested in exploring Jewish experiences and creating a connection with other area families anchored by Temple Or Elohim.
The Catering Committee's focus is to provide food for the many arms of the Temple. The committee helps in the planning of Shabbat dinners as well as special foods that are needed for events and holidays, such as Passover, Sukkot and Simchat Torah.
